The start to the year has been a bit crazy for me and my students. I am excited to say that there 6 VTft 2 students and 14 VTfT 1 students. The Twos started their internship this week. It is so exciting to see them dressed up and to see the excitement on their faces. Words cannot express the appreciation I have for the staff and teachers at my two elementary schools who welcome these interns every year. Every year, I wish I could get them into internship a week or two earlier, but I never seem to be able to pull it off. Maybe next year.
Today, the Ones and I discussed and explored learning styles and multiple intelligences. It was so cool to see the light bulbs going off and the gears grinding as they were surprised by the results of their own inventory. This is one class that I wish were 2 hours long because it seems like there is not enough time. I left the class with this question to ponder for next time: Consider your predominant learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthic) and your predominant MI/s (some had more than one). Then, consider an assignment or task at which you were most successful. How did these two characteristics-LS & MI-work together to contribute to your success? Can we say BOOM Mind blown!
